Performance Psychologist at Mindflick

Dr Sam Porter

Sam Porter is a chartered performance psychologist. Before joining Mindflick, Sam worked with Leicester Tigers, Liverpool FC Women and in horse racing. Since joining, he has worked with athletes and teams across SailGP, the America's Cup, Premier League football, Formula 1 and Olympic athletics, helping people perform when the margins are thin and the pressure is real.

Sam holds a Professional Doctorate in sport and exercise psychology. His research sits in single session thinking and brief practice: how people change fast, what beliefs make that possible, and how a psychologist can be useful in one conversation rather than twenty.

He has published on the single session mindset with ten of the world's leading brief practitioners, on how sport psychologists make the shift to briefer ways of working, and on what medal-winning coaches do to get the best out of the people around them. The same questions run through both his academic and applied work.
