Developing the world's future leaders

In 2023, we partnered with Warwick Business School (WBS) to instil cutting edge leadership principles throughout their MBA programs. Working across their full-time and part-time MBA programmes, we have helped them to develop a unique, interactive, and novel way to leadership development, helping students to develop the skills and awareness needed to effectively lead global teams: 

THE CHALLENGE

WBS sought to transcend traditional academic leadership theories to provide MBA students with a more practical, reflective understanding of leadership and team dynamics. The objective was to inspire business leaders of the future by equipping them with the skills to understand and leverage their leadership styles and engage with a diverse workforce effectively.  Identifying a method to blend academic knowledge with practical, real-world skills in a novel an memorable way presented a significant educational challenge.

THE SOLUTION

We partnered with WBS to bring an innovative approach to leadership development across flagship MBA module on leadership. Collaborating with the academic and career development teams, we designed a series of experiential workshops to blend cutting edge theories on leadership in a novel and memorable way. These workshops focused on:

  • Building high performance teams
  • Emotional & Social Intelligence
  • Coaching and developing others
  • Sustainable & Ethical Decision Making

Our tools were included throughout the module to offer a personalised and ongoing approach between sessions, helping students to grow their strengths and develop a style of leadership authentic to them.

THE IMPACT

Combining our lessons from performance sport with academic insight contributed to the development of a high-quality module which prepared students to become highly effective leaders in the future. 

Exploration of leadership in an applied way contributed to the development of all 12 of the skills associated with effective leadership. This included:

  • 36% increase in self-awareness
  • 11% increase in adaptability
  • 23% increase in the ability to have tough conversations
  • 20% increase in influence

98% of students felt better equipped to lead others effectively following the module, with 92% stating the module would help them progress in their career.
