As the Commonwealth Games 2026 begins in Glasgow, you might not spot us in the crowd, but we're there.

Behind every team you'll find coaches, physios, sports scientists and nutritionists. And behind the Vitality Roses, you'll also find Mindflick.

In elite sport, no one questions the need to invest in physiotherapy, nutrition, strength and conditioning, and world-class facilities. What's less obvious is that the same investment has to go into psychology, mindset and culture, especially among the staff who support the athletes. Those professionals carry a huge amount of the pressure, and the environment they create is what lets players thrive.

That's the work we've been proud to do with the England Netball staff team over recent months. Using the Mindflick's performance psychometric, we focused on building connection and trust across the group, enabling honest, performance-based conversations, and pressure-testing how the team would respond to the challenging moments the Games can throw at them. The aim was simple: help them operate as a high-performing team around the athletes, so the players can do what they do best.

Here's how David Parsons, Performance Director at England Netball, describes it:

"Working with Mindflick has been an important part of our journey as a staff team in recent months. Mike and Sarah took the time to understand our environment, ensuring every session was tailored to where we were as a team. Their thoughtful facilitation created an environment where people could reflect, listen and challenge each other constructively.

"Their professionalism, authenticity, and expertise, together with the use of the Spotlight profiling tool have helped us strengthen the behaviours and relationships that underpin high performance. We're grateful for their partnership and now have a stronger foundation on which to continue developing as a team."

That foundation is what the players will carry onto the court this week. The tactics, the fitness and the skill will rightly take the spotlight. But underneath all of it sits the quieter work: a staff team that has learned how to reflect together, listen to each other and challenge constructively when it matters most.

It's the same principle whether you're competing or leading a team at work. Performance rarely lives inside one person. It shows up between people, in the moments when alignment, adaptability and trust are tested.
